Understanding the AC Installation Process

August 16, 2020

If you need a new air conditioning system, you might be wondering what happens during the installation process. These are the main steps that will occur from beginning to end.

Choose the Best AC System for Your Home

The first step is to choose which AC system is best for your home. The HVAC company will take into account things like the size of your home, the local climate, what features you’re looking for and your budget.

Installation Team Arrives

When the installers arrive, they will cover your carpets and other areas with a sheet to protect them. They’ll wear protective footgear to further protect your flooring.

Old AC Equipment Is Removed

The installers will remove your old AC equipment. You don’t want to try doing this yourself as it’s unsafe unless you know what you’re doing. They’ll disconnect and remove the outside AC unit and the inside air handler.

CSL Climate Control Company of Wheeling, IL, professionally installs air conditioning systems. We have a 10-year warranty on parts for installations and employ NATE-certified technicians.

New AC Equipment Is Installed

The installation team will first put in place the outdoor AC unit. They’ll connect wires and a copper line set. They’ll then install a new air handler in your home. This process usually takes about four to 10 hours.

Set Up New Thermostat

The installers will replace your old thermostat with a new one. They’ll show you how to use it, such as programming a cooling schedule.

System Check

Before the installation team leaves, they’ll run a system check to make sure everything is working correctly. They’ll also likely show you how to replace the air filter and perform other simple maintenance.

In addition to installing AC systems, CSL Climate Control Company also handles repairs and tune-ups. We can even help you with your furnace, boiler, ductless mini-splits, radiant heating and indoor air quality. To find out more, or to schedule an appointment, give us a call today.
